Dr. Kwayisi

Meet Dr. Kwayisi

Dr. Golda Meir Kwayisi is a Georgia native, born and raised in Atlanta. For Dr. Kwayisi, becoming a physician was something she was interested in from a very young age. Her hard work and determination earned her acceptance into Emory University where she completed her undergraduate training. Immediately after receiving her Bachelors in Science with a major in Neuroscience and Behavior Biology, Dr. Kwayisi joined the workforce, which ultimately led her to Charlotte, North Carolina. She used this time to confirm her devotion to medicine and was overjoyed when she was accepted into Wake Forest School of Medicine. During that time she discovered her love for the routine and structure of Surgery.

Most recently Dr. Kwayisi completed her General Surgery Residency at Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta where she also became well versed in the areas of Trauma/Critical care, Robotic Surgery, Breast Oncology, and Colorectal Surgery.

Reflecting on her personal journey she affirms, “I credit my Ghanaian heritage for my perseverance and my parents for my attention to the detail. With their support in addition to my older brother, sister-law and nephews, I have successfully completed this portion of my journey and I am thrilled of what my future holds.”

Dr. Kwayisi enjoys all general surgery subspecialties equally and when the opportunity to work at Albany Surgical P.C arose, she was overjoyed. “Albany Surgical P.C is the perfect fit for me because of their genuine appreciation of all aspects of general surgery under exceptional mentorship from incredible surgeons” she says. This new undertaking will allow her own compassionate touch to the specialty in Albany.
